Erich Barnstedt

Erich has been a member of the Plattform Industrie 4.0 Architecture & Standards group since 2016 and a member of the OPC Foundation Marketing Control Board since 2018. Erich has been working in various software engineering roles for the last 23 years. Throughout his career, he worked in the automotive and manufacturing verticals and is the inventor of many Industrial IoT products. More recently, he shifted his work to the support of open standards as well as commitments to open-source and consortia work as Chief Architect in the IoT team at Microsoft. He is the holder of various IoT-related patents and has a bachelor and two master's degrees in computer science from Trinity College, Dublin.
