Tractor and equipment manufacturer Kubota recently announced plans to build a new $85 million engineering and design center near its manufacturing plant in northern Georgia.
The company last week announced the purchase of some 300 acres in Gainesville, Georgia; state officials said it was the Japanese manufacturer’s fourth major expansion in the state in the past six years.
The site, located a few miles from its current Gainesville factory and within 30 minutes of Kubota offices and a distribution center in Suwanee and Jefferson, respectively, will support Kubota’s overall operations in North America, company officials said.
“This project is another great milestone for Kubota, and it emphasizes our commitment to expand our presence in Georgia as a major hub of our North American operations,” Haruyuki Yoshida, the president and CEO of the company’s North American subsidiary, said in a statement.
